Church, History and Theology
The Church, History and Theology major is shaped primarily by the departments of Historical and Systematic Theology. It focuses on the study of theological traditions. How have they been shaped and renewed in the course of history? Which developments are particularly relevant from an ecumenical perspective? Contemporary philosophical and cultural developments and dialogue with postmodernism are also important. In this major you will learn a thorough knowledge of the Christian tradition to become proficient in contemporary formulation of the Christian faith relevant in the context of societal questions of sustainability, justice and ethics. After completing this program, you will be well equipped to participate in current theological discussions and to make them relevant for church and society.
